Children's Church – Sundays, during both the 9:30 traditional and the 11:15 Emerge worship services
Worshipping with the whole congregation is essential. During the second half of our worship service, however, children ages 4 years – 3rd grade are offered time for Scripture, lessons and activities as they build relationships with one another and further their faith development. After children's moments at both worship services, children leave the worship space together with adult leaders and head to either our Potter Chapel (during the 9:30a service) or our Commons area (during our 11:15a service). Parents/Caregivers pick up their children after the worship service has finished. On the first Sunday of the month when we serve Communion, children are brought back into the worship space to participate in Holy Communion with their families.
Sunday School – Sundays, 10:40 AM – 11:20 AM
The primary way children participate in and learn their faith is at home with family. Yet, Sunday school plays a vital role in preparing families by interacting with the Bible stories and our faith traditions. At Worthington UMC, we host Sunday school for all ages and stages. Classes for ages Pre-K to 6th grade are located on our 3rd floor. Our Nursery and Toddler rooms are also open during our Sunday school hours.
Nursery care - Sundays, during the 9:30 and 11:15 worship services
There is no more important ministry in the church than the care and nurturing of young children. At Worthington UMC, we see God's love active in the lives of infants and toddlers, and we are privileged to provide a nurturing environment for our youngest friends.
JAM (Junior Active Ministry) for 4th - 6th graders
Join us for once-a-month gatherings during the school year! We meet for various
activities including laser tag, visiting a corn maze, playing games at the
church, and participating in outreach activities. We meet from 4pm-6pm and it
is a great time to get to know other friends and participate in similar
programming as we transition this age group into the youth group!
Family and Community Events
From concerts on the lawn to trunk-or-treat, Christmas caroling to bowling, the Worthington family and friends love to get together for fun and friendship. Watch our web site, newsletter and bulletin boards for information about upcoming events.
